Department of Pisciculture

Year of Establishment : 01.06.1985

The Department of Pisciculture is the only department of its kind in the North Eastern Hill University. The department is not only training students at the UG level but has been actively involved in research. It is one of the few departments that are dynamically working in with fish farmers in villages as part of its extension activities, to provide support, capacity building and popularizing the scientific method of fish culture in these villages. The department is also enthusiastically caught up with result-oriented research, to sustain the academic interest of the faculty and students.
