In appreciation of our success in pioneering professional course at the Undergraduate level in 'Mass Communication and Video Production', the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved yet another professional degree programme in “Media Technologies” in the year 2001 with its core emphasis on Journalism, Photography and Sound for Media. This 3-year undergraduate programme in Media Technologies specialises in training students with the advanced media skills as per the demands of the emerging media industry. The following are the core objective of this course:

• To provide a comprehensive coverage of the media and communication landscape in the country.
• To produce graduates with strong academic knowledge and professional skills required in the media field.
• To provide hands on training on photography, journalism, advertising and public relations, radio and video production and new media.
• To enhance communication and creative writing skills.
• To sensitise on various social issues, as well as on the legal and ethical practices of the media.
