About

St. Anthony’s College, Shillong plays a proactive role in facilitating education of students and welfare of staffs from different disadvantaged backgrounds. The establishment of Equal Opportunity Cells (EOC) on June 13, 2018 in the college is a significant step to address problems and concerns of students representing different disadvantaged groups of the society including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD). .

Following are the major areas/issues EOC would address -.

  1. All affairs related to SC/ST/PWD reservation implemented in the Institute according to Indian Government Policy.
  2. To create awareness among the SC/ST/PWD students about the various fellowships offered by the central government, state governments and other organizations.
  3. To help and facilitate the SC/ST/PWD students to apply for various scholarship offered by the central government, state governments and other organizations.
  4. Registering the complaints in writing from of SC/ST/PWD staff and students and address it to concerned department, person, section for its peaceful resolution.

A committee comprising of following members is hereby constituted to look in to the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL, if any, of students and staff related to discrimination on the basis of caste etc.
