PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications)
|Duration of Course:||1 Year|
The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) is a one-year course spread over two semesters. It starts in June every year. The course content is modelled after the syllabi of comparable programmes conducted by the top universities of India and the DOEACC (Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India, and AICTE).
The course is employment-oriented. It provides a strong foundation in the theoretical concepts of Computer Science as well as a firm grounding in Visual Programming Languages. Started in 1993, the course content has been constantly updated to realise its main objectives. It is designed to enable one to undertake software applications for business and industry. Successful candidates could also opt for a teaching career in secondary schools.
The College awards certificates to candidates on successful completion of the course. The final diploma is awarded by the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) after completion of the second semester examinations. Being recognised Post-Graduate Diploma from a Central University, it commands wider acceptability and prestige compared to the Certificates awarded by Computer Training Institutes.
The Entrance Test for admission to PGDCA will held in the month of June every year.
