St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, has been recognized and awarded as a Centre under the DST-FIST (Department of Science and Technology – Fund for Improvement in S&T Infrastructure; Project No. SR/FST/ COLLEGE-2020-1000 (C)) since 2021. This has significantly enhanced its research infrastructure through funding from the DST-FIST program to improve its research capabilities, attract fresh talent, and promote advanced studies across various disciplines.
An Upright Fluorescence Microscope with HDMI camera attached and FISHWIZARD 4.2 Live Imaging Software Dewinter Fluorex LED DGI 530, Inverted Microscope with photographic attachment and image analysis software, Thermal Cycler: Bio-Rad T100, High-Speed Centrifuge: Lasany T12116, ELISA Reader, UV-VIS Spectrometer: Lasany L1-2704, UV Trans-illuminator: Accuris E3000, CO₂ Incubator: BR Biochem Life Sciences Pvt. Limited, and HPLC Biologic LP System with BioFRAC Fraction Collector has been installed.
Many UG and PG students, as well as faculty members of the College, have availed themselves of these services for their practicals, dissertations, and research work. Moreover, PhD students fromdifferent institutes are also availing themselves of the facilities at DST- FIST.
