The Department of Geology, St. Anthony's College Shillong, hosted an invited talk on "Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration in Indian Sedimentary Basins" on May 8th, 2025, for the major students of the department. The talk was delivered by hydrocarbon industry expert Mr. Adam B. Suting, General Manager (Geosciences), KGB & MBP, Oil India Limited, KG Basin Project, Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Sutting provided significant insights into the most recent technologies employed in offshore exploration and emphasised the critical role of India's sedimentary basins as hydrocarbon-bearing reserves in the nation's energy framework. He also highlighted potential future exploration opportunities and ongoing projects in the energy sector.
