The primary objective of Meghaluxion 2.0 was to foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills among students from different departments through a structured ideathon format. The event aimed to encourage innovative thinking, enhance team dynamics, and offer participants the opportunity to refine their concepts while considering real-world constraints such as feasibility and finances.
Participants began the day with interactive discussions to get acquainted and comfortable with each other. Teams were then formed through a registration process, followed by the creation of team badges and short team name introductions.
A problem board featuring real-life challenges was then revealed, and each team selected one issue to tackle. Teams spent time brainstorming, analysing the problem, and developing initial ideas through discussions, sketches, and notes.
A surprise twist was introduced through a “Disrupter Round,” where critical questions around feasibility, cost, and practical application were posed to the teams. This prompted teams to refine or pivot their solutions. A tea break was held alongside this session to keep participants refreshed.
To re-energize, a Zumba session led by Pooja and Riba brought movement and excitement to the space, helping participants reset before the next task.
Next, teams were provided with materials like paper, glue, and tools to begin crafting prototypes or visual representations of their solutions. With guidance, they transformed their ideas into tangible models to support their final presentations.
The event culminated in the Grand Pitching Presentation, where each team had the opportunity to present their solutions before a panel of esteemed judges: Mr. Cheimiki Laloo, Mr. Richard, Mr. Bibhudutta Sahu, and Mr. N.K. Each presentation was followed by a brief Q&A, allowing judges to challenge and assess the depth of each idea.
