Rifines Glory Warjri’s Journey to Mount Everest
18th May, 2025

The College, along with the family of Rifines Glory Warjri, expresses deep gratitude to God for granting her the strength, guidance, and courage to fulfill a lifelong dream. As a student of St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, and a cadet of the 61 Meghalaya Girls Battalion NCC, Rifines achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching the summit of Mount Everest (8,848 m) on 18th May 2025, as part of the NCC Everest Expedition 2025 — becoming the youngest Everester from Meghalaya.

Her journey from Shillong to the top of the world was one of discipline, perseverance, and humility. Her preparation included rigorous training at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling, winter training at the Siachen Glacier, and pre-expedition climbs such as Lobuche Peak (6,199 m) in Nepal and Renok Peak (16,500 ft) in Sikkim. Every step of her expedition was a testament to the values of patience, teamwork, and staying grounded.

This outstanding achievement of Rifines will undoubtedly inspire generations of students to dream big, remain humble, and work tirelessly toward their goals. With faith in God and dedication in the heart, no summit is ever too high to reach.
