The Department of Geology, St. Anthony\’s College Shillong organised an “Vigilance awareness programme to sensitize the youth about corruption” in collaboration with Geological Survey of India, GSI (NER) on 27th October 2025. The programme focused on corruption and its harmful effects to the society and it was designed to enhance public awareness regarding the importance. The programme came under the banner of GSI's Outreach Programme and themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility", the event took place at the Noel Conference Hall of St. Anthony's College. The session delved into the corrosive effects of corruption on society eroding trust in institutions, stifling economic growth, and perpetuating inequality while stressing the vital role of public awareness in fostering integrity and ethical governance.
