The Department of Geology, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, hosted a guest lecture titled “Carbon Dynamics in Polar Regions Shaped by Recent Warming Trends” on 14th October 2025 at Noel Conference Hall. The event drew enthusiastic participation from all major students and faculty members of the Department, marking an overall attendance of around more than 60 participants.
Mr. Dibinus Kassar, Lecturer in the Department of Geology, warmly welcomed the resource persons: Dr. Biswajit Roy, DST-INSPIRE Faculty and Geoscientist at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), and Dr. Sourav Mukhopadhyay, Teaching Associate at North-Eastern Hill University, Tura. Fifth-semester student Manfeeneedee Blah delivered an inspiring welcome address. Dr. Van Jennifer Joan Wallang, Head of Department, felicitated both resource persons.
