In 1999, a courageous group of Indian soldiers made great sacrifices to defend our nation. July 26 commemorates their victory in the Kargil War, where they bravely faced and overcame the Pakistani army to protect India’s sovereignty. Among these soldiers was Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, an alumnus of our college. His exceptional bravery and ultimate sacrifice played a crucial role in the victory of the Kargil War.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, St. Anthony's College, in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group HQ, Shillong, organized a wreath-laying ceremony. This event honored the memory of Late Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, Mahavira Chakra (Posthumously). NCC officers, the college principal, vice principals, staff, and students gathered to pay tribute to this brave soldier.
