The Department of Education, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, sponsored by ICSSR – NERC, successfully organized a five-day Research Methodology Workshop from 16th to 20th March, 2026. The workshop aimed to enhance research skills among undergraduate and postgraduate students by providing both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to various research methods and tools.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural programme held at the conference room and host by Dr. Kitbok Nongkynrih. The session began with a warm welcome by Smt. Darihum Khar Nongrum, Head of Education Department (PG), who highlighted the objectives of the workshop and encouraged active participation. A cultural presentation song by Kitkupar Nongsiej and a group dance by 2nd semester undergraduate students, added vibrancy to the programme. Dr. Fr. A. Puwein, the principal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of research in higher education, especially under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He also stressed the need for institutional collaboration and multidisciplinary learning.The inaugural session concluded with the National Anthem, followed by the introduction of the first technical session.
