The Department of Economics, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, in collaboration with GIZ India, organised Sustain-Our-Ability: Localising the SDGs, an SDG Youth Engagement Programme held on 20th, 21st and 28th August 2026 under the Support to Green and Sustainable Development Partnership project. The programme brought together 11 colleges to engage with issues related to sustainability and the localisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The programme focused on moving beyond awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals towards meaningful youth engagement. Students were given opportunities to explore local sustainability challenges, present their ideas and consider possible solutions. The programme included Sustainability Dialogues, Ideas in Action, and Reflections and Recognition, with activities ranging from expert discussions and student research to photo essays, reels, short films and other visual narratives.
