The International Conference, entitled Celebrating 100 Years of Quantum Mechanics, was collaboratively organized by the Department of Physics at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, with assistance from the Research and Development Cell (RDC SAC) and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College, alongside the Department of Physics at NIT Meghalaya, Shillong, on 21st and 22nd of November, 2024. The primary objective of the conference is to connect physicists, scholars, and emerging researchers in the field of physics, with a particular emphasis on the expanding area of quantum mechanics. It aims to promote insightful discussions and facilitate knowledge exchange, serving as a platform for significant interaction. The conference seeks to motivate researchers to present their work on national and international stages and to foster new collaboration initiatives among them, so enriching the subject of quantum mechanics. The primary focus areas of the Conference include: Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, Recent Advances in Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Materials, Quantum Communications, Quantum Dots, and Density Functional Theory (DFT). This overview encapsulates the two-day programme of keynote address, invited lectures, and presentations (both oral and poster) by the participating scholars. The conference brought together 54 scholars engaged in quantum mechanics research, alongside faculty members and students from several institutions nationwide.
