The Department emphasises on hands on training encourages handling equipment and first-hand exposure and working with different software. All these approaches enable students to gain the innate nuances of the media field experiences while still studying in the department.

The admission to both the programmes is usually conducted through an entrance exam. The Department also conducts personal interview if deemed necessary.
